Date
A single date or a date range.
A calendar date, or the start and end of a date range.
All settings
Select + in the editor, choose Date Picker, then select the question and open Content.
All questions also have Title and Description. Replace the starter title with your question; Description is optional and starts blank. Use it for instructions that should remain visible while answering. The defaults below are for a newly added question, not necessarily the example above. The example starts with Required on so you can try validation; real new questions default to optional.
| Setting | Default | Behaviour and availability |
|---|---|---|
| Date Range | Off | Switch from one date to a start and end date. |
| Placeholder | Select a date… | Visible for a single date only. |
| Start Date Placeholder | Select start date… | Visible when Date Range is on. |
| End Date Placeholder | Select end date… | Visible when Date Range is on. |
| Show Today Button | Off | Add a Set to today shortcut; in range mode each end has its own shortcut. |
| Required | Off | Under Validation. Requires an answer before continuing when this question is shown. |
Single dates and ranges
Use a single date for attendance on one day. Use Date Range for a period, and label its beginning and end with distinct placeholders. Compare the single-date and range examples; enabling a range replaces the single placeholder setting with two separate ones.
Show Today Button offers a shortcut rather than pre-filling an answer. In a range, setting the start to today does not fill the end too. Once someone starts a range, both ends need date values, even when the question is optional.
Know the current limits
The editor has no minimum/maximum date, weekday restriction or blackout-date configuration. The current answer validator checks date-shaped values but does not enforce start-before-end. Do not rely on range mode alone to reject reversed dates; test both directions in Preview.
A date contains no time of day. Add a Time question if that matters, and explain whether each endpoint is included in the period you are asking about. Test an untouched range, a half-filled range and a complete range.
Branching and piping
Open Advanced → Conditional Logic to route from an answer. In fields that offer { }, use
piping to insert an earlier answer. Plan requirements apply to advanced
logic, expressions and option attributes; these are separate from the Content settings above.
