Number

A number, optionally formatted as currency or a percentage.

A quantity that respondents type, such as a count, amount or percentage.

Minimum 0, maximum 10, step 1, decimals off. Try 2.4 or 12, then leave the input to see the adjustment.

All settings

Select + in the editor, choose Number Input, then select the question and open Content.

All questions also have Title and Description. Replace the starter title with your question; Description is optional and starts blank. Use it for instructions that should remain visible while answering. The defaults below are for a newly added question, not necessarily the example above. The example starts with Required on so you can try validation; real new questions default to optional.

Choose decimals and step together

For a count of workshops, use Number, turn Allow Decimals off and use Step size 1. For a price, choose Currency, keep decimals on and use a step such as 0.01 if cents matter. Allow Decimals by itself does not change the default step of 1.

Percentage adds a percent sign; it does not multiply the answer by 100. Entering 25 means 25%, not 0.25. If you want a 0–100 percentage, set those bounds explicitly.

What happens when the respondent leaves the input

The Number control adjusts the typed value to its bounds and rounds it to the step when focus leaves the field. With a whole-number step, 2.4 can become 2. An answer above the maximum can be adjusted rather than left on screen with an error. Test the displayed result after clicking outside the input as well as after Check answer.

The step rounds to multiples of the step from zero. Use compatible bounds and increments; rounding after a bound adjustment can produce an unexpected value when those settings do not align.

Example configurations

Try Whole sessions, Currency and Percentage in the example. Each states its range and step. Use Preview to check zero, each boundary, a fraction and a blank answer. For a bound that depends on an earlier answer, see piping into number fields.

Branching and piping

Open Advanced → Conditional Logic to route from an answer. In fields that offer { }, use piping to insert an earlier answer. Plan requirements apply to advanced logic, expressions and option attributes; these are separate from the Content settings above.
