Building surveys

The welcome screen

The first thing respondents see, including any consent checkboxes.

The Start node is the welcome screen respondents see before beginning. Every survey already has one; it cannot be deleted.

Edit the introduction

Select Start in either editor mode and open Content. Set a title and description that explain the survey's purpose, who should answer and what taking part involves. The screen also shows the survey's question count and an estimated duration.

Use Notices for information such as a privacy-policy link. Use Checkboxes for acknowledgements; each checkbox has its own Required setting. Required checkboxes must be checked before starting.

Preview the welcome screen

Check the title, links and acknowledgements in Preview. An introductory notice is useful only if respondents can read and understand it before they begin.

For information that belongs later in the survey, add a Content Node instead.
