Retake links

Let someone correct an answer after they have submitted.

From the Responses view you can create a retake link for a single response, which reopens it for editing. The link is valid for 30 days, and the response is marked as retaken.

A retake link lets a respondent correct their answers. Share it privately with the intended respondent: possession of the link grants access to that response. It is one available tool when handling a correction request; it does not replace reviewing the request itself.

  1. Open Responses in the analytics header.
  2. Select the submission you want to inspect.
  3. Choose Retake on that response.
Local example with fictional survey content.

Open Analytics → Responses, select the submission and choose its retake action. Read the dialog, then select Create & copy link. Send it only to the intended respondent through an appropriate private channel. Lensym creates and copies the link; you choose how to deliver it.

  1. Read the dialog, then choose Create & copy link. Deliver the copied link privately to the original respondent.

A public survey link is needed to build a retake link. A retired share link or unavailable survey can prevent the respondent from reopening it. Check the current survey status before sending it.

After the respondent completes the retake, inspect that response again to confirm the update.
