Option attributes

Option attributes

Attach extra values to each option — a weight, a code, a price — and pipe them later.

  1. Open Advanced for the selected choice question.
  2. Enter a value for every option that needs this attribute.
  3. Add attribute creates another named set of values.
Local documentation example.

Option attributes let you attach named values to each option of a question, then pipe those values instead of the option's visible label.

For example, attach a revenue value to each company-size option, then use it in a later calculation.

Where to find them

Select the question, open the Advanced tab, and use Option attributes.

Which questions support them

Multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, ranking, and Likert statements. For a matrix, attributes attach to the columns.

Only some types can pipe an attribute from an answer

Multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown and ranking can pipe an attribute of the option someone chose. Likert and matrix attributes are for analysis rather than piping.
